Modern collective agreements

It must be possible to modernize collective agreements

Should app jobs be embraced or rejected? When Arbetet Global organized a breakfast seminar on how digitalization is changing the labor market, there was a clear divide between Transport and Almega.

- This development is happening whether we want it to or not, and it is our task as partners to see how we can best cope with it," says Stefan Koskinen, Director General of Almega.

He says that Almega signs 132 collective agreements and that all the industries they represent are undergoing digitalization in one way or another.

- Our mission is to ensure that we have the best possible business environment.

Maria Arkeby, Head of Transport Communications, counters:

- I still cannot understand why the employer aspect cannot be retained. The Swedish model is based on the parties, but the app economy is based on just one party, just the employee. Do you at Almega believe in the Swedish model?

- "Of course we will. But we will never choose a protectionist path, Sweden's success is based on the fact that we are an international economy," says Stefan Koskinen and explains that many IT companies Almega has talked to do not think that collective agreements suit them.

- It must be possible to modernize collective agreements for new types of companies," he continues.
