Here are the finalists for Tech Company of the Year
Tech Company of the Year is TechSverige's special award that goes to a responsible company that protects employees and the environment, has positive growth and can demonstrate measurable results.
Per Schlingmann, entrepreneur, author and lecturer has been part of this year's jury:
- "Tech is crucial to meeting many of our societal challenges. That's why it's been great to see the wide range of nominations that have been received. The five finalists show both breadth, but also how tech companies contribute to a better society.
-It has not been an easy job, but it is a unanimous jury that stands behind the strong finalists in the Tech Company of the Year, which in various ways through tech creates value for their customers, organizations and society at large. We look forward to celebrating these fantastic companies at the Tech Awards industry event in March," says Åsa Zetterberg, Director of the Association and Chair of the jury.
The winning company will be presented at Tech Awards Sweden on March 22 at Sergel Hub in Stockholm. Book tickets at techawards.se
Finalists in the 'Tech Company of the Year' category:
Plant
Plant has developed a software that helps construction and real estate companies to calculate the climate impact of their construction projects and reduce climate impact. Plant is unique on the market in making climate calculations with a very high degree of automation and starting from the building's 3D models. These models already exist, but because they have not been used for climate calculations, a great potential is lost. By visualizing in 3D, you can easily show which building components drive climate impact and test different material choices and solutions to reduce emissions.
Many large construction companies and as many as 50% of Sweden's largest real estate companies now have agreements with Plant. In 2022, turnover doubled while making great development progress. Their software can now calculate the climate impact of all construction projects, at all stages, from feasibility study to construction documents and finally deliver the climate declaration as required by law. It has become easy to make many climate calculations at different stages of construction and get comparable results. This provides new opportunities to reduce climate impact.
Freja eID
Freja eID is a free, state-approved mobile e-identification. Freja Eid can be used as a physical ID in your mobile phone, as a service ID, and to log in to hundreds of online services in Sweden and Europe. Freja eID+ includes free ID protection that notifies you in the app and via email if someone changes your registered address.
In 2022, Freja eID reached almost 800,000 users and helped to reduce digital exclusion by enabling people without a bank account to obtain an e-ID. With the shared control service, Freja has helped to ensure that those who cannot or are not allowed to use e-identification independently have the opportunity to take part in the digital society with the help of a relative or guardian. The fact that the service also works as ID in physical stores has simplified for many young people who previously only had a passport as identification.

InfoSolutions
InfoSolutions is an IT company that develops infrastructure and communication services for laboratories and healthcare. InfoSolutions was the initiator and main supplier of the large-scale national testing activities for covid-19, where seven million covid tests were handled and delivered, and has been named a Gazelle company three years in a row. The company wants to promote the general digitalization of society, thereby reducing both resource consumption and transport, as well as increasing patient safety and streamlining healthcare.
InfoSolutions was founded in response to the need to send information between laboratories and healthcare providers. Today, it connects over 1500 different healthcare providers across the country with over 30 laboratories in most disciplines and 40 radiology centers.
Tibber
Tibber is the electricity company that helps customers reduce their unnecessary electricity consumption and steer their electricity use to cheaper hours. The company offers its customers an hourly price contract at a purchase price without a fixed mark-up and earns zero kronor on the customers' electricity consumption. In the app, Tibber's customers can see how the electricity price varies per hour and follow their electricity consumption in real time. The Tibber app also offers other smart solutions. If the customer has an electric car, the app schedules the charging to the time of day when the price is lowest and if the customer lives in a house, the app optimizes the heating of the house against the price of electricity, without affecting the comfort of the home.
Since its launch in 2016, Tibber has helped more than 500,000 customers reduce their electricity consumption and costs every month. Through smart solutions and consumer awareness, the company is helping to reduce society's overall energy needs and relieve the electricity grid when the load is greatest.
