Security, trust and new government
This spring, the Swedish Data Protection Authority is focusing on security issues. Work on building confidence in the industry among authorities, politicians and other decision-makers will continue.
New head of the Data Protection Board

Pär Nygårds will be on parental leave until this fall and I, Mikael Eklund, will step in as a substitute during this time. As a representative of UC AB, I have been chairman of the Data Council's predecessor, the Open Data Council. Since 2015, I have been running my own company that is a member of the Data Council, where I was previously also vice chairman. It will now be really fun to work with these issues for the industry full time.
Confidence
A joint initiative to increase confidence in the entire IT and telecom industry is being launched, focusing on new decision-makers in government and parliament. In addition, relevant stakeholders in the municipal and county council sector will be identified and contacts with relevant authorities will be made. Several of the Swedish Data Council's member companies will participate in this work.
Council meetings and Almedalen
In the spring, the Council will hold two meetings, March 27 and May 22, so save the date! Program and location will come later. Presence during the Almedalen week is important for us in IT&Telecom companies so take the opportunity to visit us and our events in Visby. More information will be presented in the future.
