It will be a long time before the state can offer IT services to its own authorities
A prerequisite for secure and cost-effective digitization of the public sector is to use a smart combination of different operating environments where private suppliers have an important role to play and where cloud services are an important component. Future-proofing the public sector's access to these services through clear and sustainable rules is a clear public interest. Digitization is moving fast. It is therefore unfortunate that the proposals have been delayed twice and that there is still no clear indication of how the proposals presented by the committee in its interim report earlier this year will be handled. The unclear situation contributes to uncertainty in the market.
The investigator foresees that the changes to create "one government service offer" cannot be in place until July 1, 2024 - almost five years after the government decided on the investigation mandate.
This is not only worrying, but also one of the reasons why it is arguably one of the most important tasks of the new Minister for Digitalization - to ensure that the public sector has rapid access to modern services.
All the proposals are now on the table and we hope that the Minister of Digitization will open up for comments and dialogue. Not least with the industry.
