TechSverige, Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer sign cooperation agreement

Today, the industry and employers' organization TechSverige, together with the trade unions Sveriges Ingenjörer and Unionen, present a letter of intent to enter into a cooperation agreement on the development of the IT and telecom industry. The aim is to promote an internationally competitive industry in Sweden.

The declaration of intent states, among other things, that the parties will work to ensure that the industry is characterized by a positive working environment, sustainability, diversity and good relations between employers and employees and trade union representatives in the companies.

- "In today's fast-moving and global market, it is crucial to have a strong and competitive IT and telecom industry in Sweden. This cooperation is an important milestone to ensure a sustainable and successful development for the industry and society at large," says Einar Humlin, Head of Negotiations at TechSverige.

- We look positively at continuing the work of finding forms for how we can develop the industry and continue to have good cooperation on common and important issues in social development and the labor market and collaborate on issues that affect both companies and members, says Camilla Frankelius, Head of Negotiations at the Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers.

- "The Swedish model is based on the parties finding joint solutions that serve the industry and the employees well. If we can drive and influence the industry positively on issues that we can agree on jointly, we will always take that opportunity," says Martin Wästfelt, head of negotiations at Unionen.

The aim of the collaboration is for companies, elected representatives and officials in the sector to see the benefits of collective agreements and the Swedish model. It is crucial to clarify the common interest in collaboration and understanding of the industry's needs in both the short and long term. This is achieved through improved communication and increased insight into the industry's conditions within the framework of joint work.

The parties emphasize the importance of a common understanding of the industry's needs as a key to development, for example by ensuring strategic skills supply and identifying common interests in industrial policy issues.

In the autumn, the parties will negotiate how to formalize the MoU. Read the letter of intent in full here
