Spread the word about this initiative

Sweden deserves an election campaign focused on facts and respect. That is why TechSverige, together with Akavia, the Swedish Farmers’ Association (LRF), SPF Seniorerna, the Swedish National Union of Students (SFS), and Sveriges Kommunikatörer, has developed four principles for a respectful and fact-based public debate.

Now we want you to take a stand—as a politician, a public commentator, an organization, or a voter. It starts with you. Stand up for a responsible election campaign and spread the word.

"Sweden's competitiveness is not determined by who shouts the loudest—but by our ability to work together to translate knowledge and innovation into tangible social progress."

Background to the initiative

The initiative is a commitment, in word and deed, to a more objective, respectful, and fact-based election campaign.

Together with several civil society organizations, TechSverige supports four principles under the banner “For an Informed Choice.” Together, we are working to promote these principles among politicians, public commentators, organizations, and voters.

The complexity of the world around us and its geopolitical unpredictability highlight the need for an enlightened society. We call for a debate in which knowledge and experience are given real weight.

Making sustainable decisions on difficult issues requires open debate, a clear articulation of conflicting goals, and a serious consideration of different perspectives. A strong democracy demands long-term solutions based on the conviction that voters deserve transparency and that political opponents should be engaged on the merits of the issue.

By bringing together stakeholders around shared principles, we aim to help raise the bar ahead of the election. Ultimately, an informed election is about respecting the judgment of citizens and ensuring that Sweden’s future is shaped by knowledge, responsibility, and constructive dialogue.
