Do you have an IT/digitalization/skills shortage? Help us gather the facts!
Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, sharing economy, augmented/virtual reality... The development of all things digital is racing ahead and everyone, not just IT/telecom providers, is crying out for skills in this area. One of the most important tasks of IT&Telecom companies is to come up with measures to meet this need. To do this, we need to know what skills our education system, for example, should be producing. Now we need your help to gather this important data!
In the winter of 2014/15, IT&Telecom companies produced the report Report: Acute and structural skills shortage in the IT and telecom sector. The report presents a study that shows, among other things, that by 2020 we could have a shortage of 60,000 IT experts if no action is taken. The report also points out which individual professional roles are the most sought-after: Software / system developers, IT architects, usability / UX experts, etc.
Since the report was published, developments in both technology and services have continued. Big Data, cloud services and the Internet of Things were already highly topical at the time, and have since been augmented by other strong trends such as artificial intelligence, the sharing economy, augmented/virtual reality, 3D printing, voice control, etc.
Not only the education system (schools, universities, universities of applied sciences), but also other actors who in one form or another supply skills to the digitized sector (recruitment consultants, the Swedish Public Employment Service, etc. That is why we are now launching a new survey of the skills needed, with the aim of producing an updated version of the skills shortage report.
As a first step, I invite all of you who are looking for any kind of digitalization skills, regardless of the industry you work in, to answer a very short survey - just a few quick questions. Help us help you in the long run - by answering the survey here.
Thank you for your reply during the month of April!
