IT&Telecom companies write SUP46 letter on copyright to relevant ministers

Last week, the IT&Telecom Companies' Data Council and SUP46 wrote a letter to the Minister of Migration and Deputy Minister of Justice Fritson, the Minister of Culture Bah Kuhnke and the Minister of Enterprise and Innovation Damberg regarding the European Commission's proposals for new copyright legislation. The letter describes the proposals as ineffective and that they risk seriously damaging the digital ecosystem. For an innovative and future-oriented digital single market, the Swedish government was urged to take a clear position on the issue.

To ensure that growth potential in the digital sector is supported, and that the government has the best and most powerful arguments for Sweden in the continued negotiations, both IT&Telekomföretagen and SUP46 asked for a meeting with the Minister of Migration and Deputy Minister of Justice Heléne Fritzon, who owns the issue within the government.
