Cuviva pushes for increased pace of digitization of home care for chronic and frail elderly

The challenges facing health care have long been recognized. The increasing proportion of elderly people with chronic diseases, combined with a lower proportion of people of working age, means that new approaches to care need to be introduced. Therefore, the development of eHealth is crucial to ensure that frail older people receive the care they are entitled to.

Although investigators and politicians agree that the digitization of health and social care must increase in pace, it is not happening fast enough. Influence is needed from several directions, and the actors in welfare technology need to come together to help and drive development.

That's why Cuviva, an innovative company in e-health, has chosen to test what it's like to be an industry member of IT&Telecomföretagen. An opportunity that exists for small growth companies that today act as innovation engines for many of society's actors.

We know what it takes to bring innovations to healthcare faster

- We want to contribute where discussions are held and decisions made. We know what is required for innovations to be brought into healthcare faster and for Sweden to achieve the goal of Vision Ehälsa 2025, and a prerequisite for achieving this is that the various actors in society are prepared to take their respective responsibilities to achieve the goal. For example, contracting authorities need to work to harness the power of innovation through faster and more efficient procurement, in the same way that the solution and data management perspectives are also central to achieving the goal," says Fredrik Koffner.

Unique solution for more efficient and safer care at home

Cuviva has developed a unique solution for more efficient and safer care at home. Cuviva's ambition is for all groups in society to feel safe and independent in their homes - including older people who are chronically ill and need constant care. Therefore, the company has created a digital ecosystem that increases security around the individual through a secure communication platform between the individual, care providers and relatives.

- We want to start a new phase of digitization that helps county councils, municipalities and private health and care providers to adopt a more agile approach, to increase security and quality for the individual at every step, while also increasing efficiency, says Fredrik Koffner. The solution is primarily about starting from the individual's conditions, instead of starting from the provider. Something that Cuviva calls democratic digitization for sustainable health and social care.

- It is a big step to reverse the perspectives and instead of starting from the provider to put the individual at the center. At the same time, we know that it is entirely possible, and hope that we, together with other members of IT&Telecom companies, will be able to accelerate the absolutely necessary digitization of, above all, the groups that have the greatest need for care and care. This is required to create the equal care and care every citizen is entitled to," says Fredrik Koffner.
