Per Wallentin, CEO of Knowit - new board member

Tell us briefly about yourself.

I am 49 years old, a teenage parent who likes sports and especially MTB and windsurfing. I entered the IT industry at the turn of the millennium and enjoy the rapid development that is changing both our industry and society for the better. I have been CEO of Knowit since 2011.

What are you most looking forward to in your work as a member of the Board?

It is always stimulating to have the opportunity to be in new contexts and board work is about looking beyond the company level to the industry level. So it will be exciting and interesting to work for the development of the entire industry and thus also society.

What do you feel you can contribute to the Board?

I think my knowledge of how to best combine the human aspects with technology can be valuable. We work a lot with that at Knowit. Most often, the biggest challenges in running IT projects or technology development are not really the technology, but how we humans work. If we are to further increase the innovative power of the entire business community, where our industry can be a catalyst, we must use technology to create the conditions for people to be innovative.I hope to contribute a little extra to that.I also have a great interest in society, which I think is important to have, as our industry has such a great impact on people's everyday lives.

What issues do you think are most important for IT&Telecom companies to pursue?

In general, I think it is important that a trade association creates conditions so that companies in the industry, employees and customers work well together. Clarity in these relationships with, among other things, agreements, initiatives and initiatives increases efficiency for everyone in the industry. The companies earn more money, the employees get better conditions and opportunities to do a better job, and the customers get better deliveries. Our industry also has advantages, such as well-trained employees and great opportunities to influence society as a whole. At the same time, we also have challenges, such as sometimes getting stuck in old structures that are not adapted to working agile. Something that we must do to develop as an industry.
