Pernilla Nissler, CEO of Blocket - new board member
I'm CEO at Blocket since January 2019 - I love it! Before that, I had twenty super fun years at Tele2 and Nokia. I'm convinced that strong leadership leads to high engagement which in turn leads to success. I am also driven to drive change with the help of the people around me and a strong company culture. I live in Täby with my husband Martin and our two sons Calle (11 years) and Eric (10 years). I am a handball mom (go Täby HBK!) and a soccer mom (go IK Frej Täby!). We love to ski together as a family.
What are you most looking forward to in your work as a member of the Board?
To begin with, it feels very fun and honorable to be on the board. IT&Telekomföretagen is doing a successful job of developing, supporting and influencing the industry and I look forward to being part of that work. Above all, I look forward to being part of the digital transformation that the corona crisis has also accelerated. Blocket started basically at the same time as the internet was born and we have a lot of lessons and successes that we can share. I'm also looking forward to being part of the push for gender equality, where we as an industry need to work even harder to succeed. Womentor is a great initiative that Blocket is proud to be a part of.
What do you feel you can contribute to the Board?
On the one hand, I think a lot of my personal background can come in handy in this assignment. But also, of course, a lot of the work we have done and are doing at Blocket. I think I can come in with skills, experience, new thoughts and approaches to new problems.
What issues do you think are most important for IT&Telecom companies to pursue?
The major overarching issue is, of course, the digital transition, which is becoming even more tangible for more and more industries, not least with the current situation with the coronavirus. Linked to this, it is also a matter of working on issues to promote digital skills, including issues of a more equal industry.
