We will be TechSverige!

In October last year, the Board of IT&Telecomföretagen decided on a new business strategy for 2025. The strategy includes a new vision: "A world-leading tech sector makes Sweden reach its full potential", a description of the association's mission and goals for the association's development over the next five years (desired positions). As part of the work on the new operational strategy, the issue of the association's name has been raised. The name issue is central to all brand building. Finding a clear name that is relevant to the activities, gives the right associations and can also be developed over time is a prerequisite for an attractive brand. It is also central to being relevant to current members and to attracting future member companies.

Our current name has served the association well, but given how the industry has developed in recent years and given our new business strategy, the board saw the need for a revision of the name. This is also something that has been confirmed by you members when we asked how you see our current name. The answers are unambiguous; the existing name - IT&Telekomföretagen - certainly has qualities such as clarity and recognition, but it is also perceived as dated.

Against this background, in December last year, the association's director was tasked by the board to start a so-called name project with the aim of presenting a proposal for a new association name at the annual meeting on May 6, 2021. To support the process, the branding agency Identity Works has been hired.

It has been a solid but resource-efficient process that has been characterized by broad dialogue and anchoring with member companies and other key players. A process that finally landed in a proposal for a new association name and which the Board unanimously supported. We are pleased to note that the Annual General Meeting voted in favor of the Board's proposed new name. The new name is: TechSverige.

The change of name will formally take place according to a specially developed process, before the end of 2021 and in the most cost-effective and resource-efficient way possible. More information will be available after the summer.
