Digital Services Act

Negotiations on the European Commission's proposal for a new Digital Services Act (DSA) are in full swing in Brussels and this week there was a first debate in the Internal Market Committee of the European Parliament (IMCO) on the rapporteur's draft report. Ahead of the negotiations, IT&Telecom has prepared an updated position that we have presented to members of the EP and the Swedish Parliament as well as to the Government Offices.

An important message from us is to ensure that the final legislation - after negotiations and compromises - also meets fundamental principles such as proportionality and regulatory clarity. It must be clear who will be subject to the future obligations and how they will be met so that we do not end up in a new GDPR-like situation where it takes several years to know what applies and how companies can meet the requirements.
