IT&Telecom companies in talks on the updated EU industrial strategy with the Minister of Economic Affairs
On 9 June, Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Ibrahim Baylan invited representatives of some 30 organizations to a discussion on the EU's updated industrial strategy. The strategy, which was presented in May and builds on the 2020 strategy, highlights the importance of the single market. It also describes the transformative power of digitalisation and how the conditions for the green and digital transitions are now better than ever. The 2020 strategy highlighted the need for the EU to accelerate investment in areas such as research and the deployment of AI and 5G.
At the meeting with the Minister, IT&Telecom stressed the need to deepen the internal market and avoid over-implementation, as well as to reduce the regulatory burden and to see the services sector as an engine for growth. Read the IT&Telecom companies' comments here.
