Magdalena Aspengren on Tech Awards: "There is great power in good examples as inspiration for others"

The jury that will select the winners of Tech Awards Sweden was recently announced. A new industry competition and event that will reward, celebrate and spread awareness of good initiatives and work that shows the benefits and opportunities of tech. The jury includes Magdalena Aspengren, Sustainability and Quality Manager at Telenor Sweden. Read her thoughts on the jury work, the award and the industry's sustainability work.

How do you feel about the jury assignment in Tech Awards Sweden?
It will be exciting and fun. Both to get to know the nominated contributions and to be part of a competent team.

How do you see the tech industry's contribution to a sustainable transition?
We have a major and important task to transform both ourselves and, above all, other industries with the help of the knowledge and technology we have in the industry. An important part of our work is to make it easier for our customers to act sustainably and to set requirements in our supply chain.

Why is a sustainability award needed?
There are many people making great contributions to sustainability that may not be visible to the public. This is a way to highlight some of them. By sharing this knowledge, others can do the same or get new ideas in the field.

Why is it important to highlight good examples through initiatives like the Tech Awards?
There is great power in good examples as inspiration for others. To see that it is possible to do "the impossible".

Lastly, do you have any advice for Tech Awards contestants?
Don't be shy but highlight what you have achieved, how you got there and how you can inspire others. Share your experiences because we know it has not always been an easy road.

The Tech Awards include the categories 'Tech Company of the Year', 'Most Valuable Use of Tech of the Year', 'Sustainability Award of the Year' and 'Skills Award of the Year'. The competition is accepting nominations until January 7. The winners will be presented at this year's major industry event and celebration Tech Awards Sweden, a hybrid event broadcast from Sergel Hub in Stockholm on March 22.
