TechSverige gears up in healthtech and welfare technology

TechSverige has hired Peter Kjäll as a new industrial policy expert. His focus areas will be issues in healthtech, welfare technology and the digitization of the public sector - areas that the industry and employer organization will focus extra on.

- I am extremely happy to be able to work through TechSverige for the industry that not only my heart beats for but which will be the primary driver for the extremely necessary transition in healthcare, which needs to take place in order for us to maintain and improve the welfare we have in Sweden. The potential of tech as a toolbox to contribute to Sweden as a leading Life-Science nation is also incredibly high - and it will be great fun to be able to promote it," says Peter Kjäll.

Peter Kjäll has extensive experience of working in digital transformation in healthcare, both from the tech industry and the public sector. He comes most recently from RISE where he led the work in healthtech and e-health and has for several years been strongly involved in the business community, including through board positions and strategic support for tech companies in healthtech, life science and medical technology.

- We are extremely proud and happy to have recruited a star like Peter Kjäll. His solid experience and expertise will be important in our work in the area going forward. Peter will have a central role in supporting member companies, the development of the industry and contribute to taking Sweden's digital development to the next level," says Åsa Zetterberg, Director of TechSverige.

TechSverige has long been driving issues in the welfare area and with the new recruitment will further intensify the work.

- There are a lot of interesting things happening in the health sector linked to digitalization and tech. Sweden has many exciting companies offering smart solutions in health, care and welfare. The potential of increased use of new technology, data and new ways of working in this area is enormous. At the same time, it is crucial if we are to cope with the welfare mission in the future. Sweden and the public sector need to take advantage of the solutions and innovations that exist and are being developed on the market. These companies also include some of Sweden's future major export successes," says Åsa Zetterberg, Director of TechSverige.

Peter Kjäll will take up the post in March 2022.
