Foxway paves the way for the new generation of sustainable and equitable IT society
Devices collected and returned to Foxway will always be part of a refurbishment, repair or upgrade process. This is the true circularity that the market needs. High quality laptops have the ability to live more than 5 years and in some cases up to 12. Even mobile phones can live more than 5 years - and in some cases up to 8 years if handled carefully in a sharing economy and with an additionality process. Foxway believes that it needs to purify the ranks and that pure "traders" or "collectors" eventually need to be phased out. To reach the goal set by Foxway to reduce the IT footprint in the EU by half, this methodology and insight needs to be implemented across the industry - from manufacturers to retailers, customers, financial institutions and refurbishment partners.
Most companies still operate on a linear business model of produce, sell and to some extent repair, but as more and more e-waste is generated, combined with low collection and recycling rates, the pressure on our limited resources and the burden on the environment is increasing.
Through our unique circular business model, we are able to track, repair and gain valuable insights on the lifecycle of technological devices. With our AI-powered tools, we can predict future lifespan and value, enabling our partners to not only make the right sustainable decisions, but also enabling financial institutions, retailers and partners to make beneficial financial agreements in the sharing economy, by offering future price commitments agreements and services.
Foxway offers high-quality recycled IT products at a lower price as an alternative to low-cost new products. Last year, Foxway recycled and enabled the reuse of more than 1.5 million computer storage devices. When a customer buys a refurbished computer, or returns or reuses a computer, they save the climate 258 kilograms of CO₂ equivalents.
Foxway's circular solutions allow businesses, the public sector and schools to access high-quality technology at a lower cost and thus a lower carbon footprint. Everyone can contribute through the responsible reuse of IT products.

Good education and reducing inequalities
Foxway works to spread the benefits of the information society to socially vulnerable groups.
This has positive implications for digital inclusion. For example, half a billion school children do not have access to the internet for educational or social purposes.
Access to connectivity and digital tools is a must for a level playing field between countries and students. Inequality today is greater than during industrialization. This is a perspective that is often forgotten in the debate around IT and sustainability. To contribute to digital development, education and gender equality in more socially vulnerable countries, Foxway donates and provides quality digital tools to schools and organizations in e.g. South Africa and Tibet. Foxway also supplies IT equipment to schoolchildren in Estonia who cannot afford to buy it themselves.
Fighting climate change
The climate impact resulting from the use of IT products is one of the areas that can be affected under scope 3 - environmental impacts arising from sources not owned or controlled by the company. An increasing number of companies have introduced various formulations in their policies, but unfortunately it stops there. We have taken this insight into account in developing the 'My Sustainable Choice' concept. The starting point is a policy-driven system that combines financial and sustainability data in one interface. Simply put, a solution that helps every employee make sustainable product choices without compromising control or cost to the organization.
