TechSverige welcomes proposals for improved R&D tax credit and expert tax rules
A strong research and innovation climate and good conditions for companies to build knowledge are a prerequisite for Swedish competitiveness and sustainable social development.
The government announced last week that a committee will be set up to review the reduction of employer contributions and the general payroll tax for people working in research or development, as well as tax breaks for foreign experts, researchers or other key personnel. See committee directive 2023:81 here. The assignment must be reported by January 15, 2025.
TechSverige welcomes the government's appointment of the inquiry!
"We are pleased that the government has listened to us and many other critical voices, about the need for a review of the regulatory framework to make it easier to understand and apply and that the definition of R&D needs to be broader rather than narrower," says Ana Andric, Industry Policy Expert at TechSverige.
TechSverige will now follow the work of the inquiry.
