Sweden invests in digital skills to meet future challenges
In an increasingly digitalized world, Sweden is taking an important step forward by developing its digitalization policy. To assist in the strategic work, the government has the advisory function Digitization Council.
Digital skills crucial in Sweden's upcoming digitalization strategy
On 26 March 2024, the Swedish Digitization Council, through TechSverige and Teknikföretagen, arranged a workshop where key players from academia, social organizations and business gathered to discuss how Sweden can take a leading position in digital skills and secure skills for business and the public sector.
The input from the workshop will serve as an important basis for the government's further work on formulating a national digitization strategy that includes measures and priorities for digital literacy.
- The extensive digitalization and AI development taking place both in Sweden and globally means that the demand for digital skills is growing all the time.Good access to digital skills is crucial for Sweden. It is a prerequisite for the competitiveness of the entire business sector and for creating growth, managing welfare and the climate transition. By setting clear political priorities, attracting more people to take an interest in tech and collaboration, we can ensure that the skills supply of the future is secured," says Åsa Zetterberg, Director of TechSverige and member of the Digitization Council.
With the help of the Digitization Council and the broad engagement that exists, better coordination is created to promote digital development, innovation and skills, which is crucial for Sweden's continued success and prosperity in an increasingly connected world.
