TechSverige launches report ahead of EU elections
In the run-up to the elections for the European Parliamentament on June 9, the the trade and employers' organization TechSverige will present a tech agenda for the EU. The report highlights the need for and proposed actions for a tech policy that contributes to a a safe, sustainable and competitive EU.
- The European Parliament elections will be crucial for the development of technology and for strengthening competitiveness in the EU in the coming years. Technologies such as AI and 5G open up to enable a sustainable transition, to sharpen welfare, increased competitiveness in all industries and new jobs throughout the EU, says Fredrik Sand, industry policy expert at TechSverige.
In international comparisons, Europe has lost momentum in recent years as other continents such as Asia and North America sharpen their digitalization policies and invest in new technologies such as AI and 5G.
- During the coming mandate period, the EU needs to focus on measures that strengthen business growth. Sweden has unique opportunities to contribute. We need Swedish parliamentarians who see the opportunities and act as a driving force for EU competitiveness," says Fredrik Sand.
- With this report, we want to contribute to a factual debate on how digitalization can shape a safe and sustainable Europe and a Sweden at the digital forefront," says Fredrik Sand.
TechSverige invites you to a seminar today, May 16, where the report will be presented and discussed with tech leaders and candidate MEPs.
