New report: Stockholm and Porto have best 5G networks in Europe

Stockholm is the city in Europe that offers the highest perceived quality of its 5G networks, along with Porto, according to a new report. During an award ceremony at MWC25 in Barcelona, Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner, together with the Swedish mobile operators, received the Best 5G Experience Award presented by MedUX. TechSverige was present during the award ceremony.

The survey, conducted in the fourth quarter of 2024, consisted of tests in 15 major cities in 11 European countries, covering a population of over 60 million people. Test cars traveled more than 5,500 kilometers to test the 5G experience on the networks of 39 operators, including Swedish mobile operators Telia, Tele2, Telenor and Tre.

Stockholm, together with Porto, achieved a score of 4.78 out of 5, with Lisbon and Copenhagen just behind. In cities such as Brussels and London, there is room for improvement.

The report also highlights Stockholm's strong performance in areas such as video streaming and 5G upload speed

The survey was conducted by MedUX, an international testing and benchmarking company for fixed and mobile networks.
