TechSverige has signed a new collective agreement for the telecom industry
TechSverige has agreed a new collective agreement with Unionen, Sveriges Ingenjörer, Ledarna and Akavia for employees in the Telecom agreement. The new collective agreement extends over 24 months.
The agreement covers around 130 telecom companies and 17,500 employees and runs from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2027.
- The new agreement provides greater flexibility for companies. Among other things, we have secured an exemption from the night work ban in the Working Hours Act, the possibility to choose the time of the wage review and simplified MBL processes for smaller companies without a trade union club. This makes it easier for companies to act on their own terms and is in line with our goal of competitive and company-oriented collective agreements," says Einar Humlin, head of negotiations at TechSverige.
The value of the agreement provides for wage increases of 5.5%, divided into two wage revisions: 3.0% on April 1, 2025 and 2.5% on April 1, 2026. The basis for wage increases under the agreement continues to be the individual company's economic and market conditions. The total value of the agreement is 6.4%, of which 0.5% corresponds to a day off through a reduction in working hours and a further 0.4% is set aside for flexi-pension.
Throughout the process, TechSverige has focused on constructive solutions to high demands in order to create stability in the labor market, flexibility for companies and competitiveness.
- We are pleased that we have also been able to keep away strong demands from the unions for regulations that could limit companies' opportunities to use various software for efficiency and business development," says Einar Humlin.
A reduction in working hours has been a key demand of the unions in this year's collective bargaining. Although TechSverige has consistently opposed such regulation, in the final stage the organization had to accept a limited wording on working time reduction - equivalent to one day per year starting in 2026. As the unions' demand was ultimate, the issue was resolved with a compromise that protects companies from conflict, limits the scope of the regulation and gives some freedom of action in implementation.
- The telecom industry is very important for Sweden, and through this agreement we contribute to stability in the labor market and long-term rules and flexibility for the continued development and competitiveness of telecom companies, says Åsa Zetterberg, CEO of TechSverige.
