TechSverige welcomes Anna Gerstenfeld
TechSverige welcomes its new intern, Anna Gerstenfeld, 21, from Malmö. As part of her Bachelor of Politics at Lund University - with a focus on economics - she is now interning with us this fall. With a strong interest in industrial policy, innovation and the importance of technology for economic growth, Anna is looking forward to getting an insight into how the work of a trade and employers' organization works in practice for six months.
What made you want to do an internship at TechSverige and what are you most looking forward to in the next six months?
What first interested me in TechSverige was industry policy and the advocacy work that TechSverige does. How this works and the skills it requires drew my attention here. During the next 6 months, that's exactly what I'm looking forward to, to follow an organization like TechSverige with only one year until elections, sit in on meetings and see how things work outside of studies. I also look forward to getting away from the theoretical studies for a while and seeing how what I learn is applied in practice.
Today, growth is driven almost exclusively by innovation and technology.
Is there any area of tech that you find particularly interesting?
Yes, this spring I took a course called nothing less than economic growth where all the calculations they made showed that today it is almost exclusively innovation and technology that drive growth. This obviously sparked an interest in how and why this is the case and makes it incredibly interesting to understand the industry and what it requires to drive growth.
Tell us something funny or unexpected about yourself that we might not find in your CV.
Something funny about me is always hard to answer but, music and movies are a big part of my life. I play electric bass and did it for a long time in a band and think it's one of the most fun things you can do in your spare time.
