Hello, tech leaders: William Lundström, Veromatic

In our article series “Hello, Tech Leaders,” we highlight those who are helping to create the right conditions for a competitive and responsible tech industry that contributes to a stronger Sweden. William Lundström is the CEO and co-founder of Verumatic, an AI-based tech company that transforms complex and fragmented political data into strategic intelligence.

– Through our platform, we help companies and organizations proactively monitor, analyze, and respond to policy decisions from the local level and up. We see ourselves as filling a critical gap where information was previously buried in thousands of pages of policy documents. By transforming this into a proactive, AI-driven news radar that understands the company’s context, we give our customers a strategic edge that previously required enormous manual resources,” says William Lundström.

What inspired you to start the company?
– “Political data, especially at the local level, was far too fragmented for organizations to track it effectively. That’s why we founded Verumatic—to build the digital infrastructure that was missing. By making this information accessible, we create the insights needed for companies to act proactively, make more informed decisions, and minimize political risk.

What do you look for when recruiting?
– We’re looking for talent that combines technical expertise with an understanding of and interest in social issues. Since we operate at the intersection of AI, politics, and democracy, we value employees who are motivated by creating real social impact through the technology we build. But for Swedish companies to compete for the very best global talent, a strong vision alone isn’t enough. As a member of TechSverige, we look forward to monitoring and advocating on issues regarding how Sweden can strengthen its appeal and legislation for incentive programs. It must become easier and more cost-effective for Swedish growth companies to allow employees to become co-owners—this is a key issue for attracting and retaining talent as the company grows.

What issues are at the top of your agenda right now?
– We’re seeing a surge of interest, particularly from the urban development sector, which is heavily impacted by the municipal planning monopoly. Right now, our focus is therefore on onboarding new customers and ensuring they quickly get the most out of the platform.

You recently joined TechSverige. Can you tell us about the value you see in membership?
– It’s challenging to drive major structural issues on your own, especially as a young company. That’s why it feels absolutely right to be part of the TechSverige community. We value their role as the industry’s collective voice. It provides us with a platform for sharing experiences and strength on issues that require collective influence. For us, membership is about working together with others to strengthen both Swedish competitiveness and transparency in the public sector.
