Spotify Joins TechSverige 

TechSverige is pleased to welcome Spotify, which is now joining the organization. In an interview, Rebecka Berntsson, Senior Government Affairs Manager at Spotify, discusses the issues at the top of the agenda and what is needed for Sweden to remain a strong tech nation.

Why did you decide to join TechSverige?
We believe in working to build a strong tech sector and advocating for issues from an industry perspective. TechSverige advocates for several issues that are important to us, and we are committed to participating in the public policy debate. 

What issues are at the top of your agenda right now?
Many! But to name a few, the focus is on attracting talent to Sweden, including by reviewing tax incentives for R&D personnel. We would also like to see a proactive Swedish policy in the field of AI, where decision-makers recognize the potential of AI and ensure that we can use it to strengthen Sweden’s competitiveness.  

What is most important for tech companies to be able to continue to launch, grow, and invest in Sweden?
A strong capital market and harmonized regulations. 

What role can technology play in Sweden’s competitiveness and development in the coming years?
The tech sector will be absolutely crucial to Sweden’s economic growth. Sweden is a country full of tech entrepreneurs with the right ambition and capacity for innovation. Now it’s up to us to make the most of it.
