The Nordic region needs a common digital preparedness strategy

Cyber and hybrid threats do not stop at national borders. In a joint op-ed in the Danish newspaper Børsen, TechSverige and our Nordic sister organizations urge governments to strengthen joint digital preparedness.

The Nordic region’s digital infrastructure is closely interconnected. Yet national regulations and barriers to information sharing make it difficult to respond quickly and collectively in the event of an attack.

Together with IT-Branchen in Denmark, FiCom in Finland, and TEK Norway, TechSverige is calling for more coordinated regulations, permanent operational cooperation between government agencies and businesses, and joint cybersecurity and emergency preparedness exercises.

The call to action is part of the work being done within the Joint Nordic Initiative for Digital Resilience. The initiative aims to strengthen the Nordic region’s digital resilience and create better conditions for cross-border cooperation.

“Our digital infrastructure connects the Nordic region. Therefore, our preparedness must also be coordinated. Through our Nordic cooperation, we aim to remove barriers so that companies’ expertise and resources can be utilized where they are needed,” says Åsa Zetterberg, CEO of TechSverige.
