As a manager, you play an important role in your organization’s health and safety efforts. But what does that mean in practice? What regulations do you need to be familiar with, what responsibilities do you have, and how can you take a preventive approach to health and safety as part of your day-to-day operations?

The "Work Environment for New Managers" course provides participants with basic knowledge about the work environment and a practical understanding of the manager’s role in work environment efforts. The focus is on what managers need to know and do on a day-to-day basis—from identifying and assessing risks to implementing measures and following up on work environment efforts.

Here's what your managers will take away from this

After completing the training, participants will:

  • A solid foundation in occupational safety and health legislation and an understanding of what the rules mean in a managerial role.
  • An understanding of responsibilities and roles in workplace safety and health efforts, and how workplace safety and health tasks can be assigned within the organization.
  • Practical tools for systematic workplace safety and health efforts—from surveys and risk assessments to corrective actions and follow-up.
  • Greater certainty regarding workplace safety responsibilities and better conditions for implementing preventive measures in day-to-day operations.
