Why employer contributions need to be lowered

With less than three weeks to go before the elections, we welcome you to this seminar on how reducing social security contributions can reduce unemployment and promote entrepreneurship and job creation in the service sector. The seminar will be attended by representatives from different parts of the business community and from politics.
Introduced in 1960 to finance individual social benefits for employees, the employer contribution is now almost ten times higher than when it was introduced, and the link between the contribution and social benefits is increasingly weak. Almost 40% of the levy is a pure tax on labor.
Employer contributions make up a quarter of the cost of hiring for companies. Swedish social security contributions are among the highest in the EU, affecting job creation, the ability of Swedish companies to compete internationally, and the ability of people outside the labor market to find work.

Reduced social security contributions and a reform of the employment service create more jobs
Sweden has 330 000 unemployed. At the same time, service companies are finding it difficult to recruit the people they need. The reform of the employment service, where individual actors are given the task of quickly training and matching the unemployed to vacant jobs, needs to be implemented quickly. Reduced employer contributions can help service companies create more jobs for people who are outside the labor market. Experts from Almega and the parties' regional top candidates will be present. Seminars will take place in four locations during the last week of August.
