Discrimination issues in practice
Discrimination rules lie like a net over employment law and you always need to keep them in mind when making various employment law decisions. In this course, we go through who is protected by the Discrimination Act and what is required of you as an employer to not discriminate on the basis of gender, ethnicity, disability, age, etc.
Course description
This is what you will get in the course
In this course we will alternate theory with practice. You will gain the knowledge required to properly prevent and manage discrimination in working life in your role as an employer. The course is mainly based on the Discrimination Act, but also covers the Parental Leave Act and the Act prohibiting discrimination against part-time workers and workers with fixed-term employment. In addition to the course's lectures, you as a participant will have the opportunity to solve and discuss practical problems that may arise in the workplace in small groups.
During the course, we will go through what to consider during a job interview, how a job description and requirements profile should be written so as not to be discriminatory and what responsibility you have as an employer to inform employees about reconciling paid work with parenthood. We also look at the consequences of discrimination, for employers and employees, and how you should think when drawing up policies and procedures.
