Navigating the redundancy process can be challenging, especially in the rapidly changing tech industry where flexibility and innovation meet legal requirements and collective agreements. In this webinar, you will get a concrete step-by-step overview of how a redundancy situation is handled according to Swedish labor law – from preparations and union negotiations to termination and documentation. The focus is on practical application and common pitfalls, so that you as an employer can act legally and effectively even under pressure.

Aims and objectives of the course

This webinar aims to provide you with a clear and practical overview of the redundancy process. The focus is on increasing your confidence in handling a difficult and sensitive situation in a correct, structured, and legally secure manner.

After the course you will be able to:

  • Identify when there is a shortage of work and what legal requirements apply
  • Prepare and conduct union negotiations in accordance with the Swedish Trade Union and Management Co-determination Act (MBL)
  • Apply redeployment and seniority rules correctly
  • Avoiding common mistakes that can lead to invalid dismissals
  • Implement redundancies due to lack of work with both legal and communicative support

Target group

The course is aimed at those who are new to labor law and who are CEOs, HR specialists, managers, or supervisors with personnel responsibility, or who otherwise come into contact with labor law in their daily work.
