On January 1, 2027, the Swedish regulations based on the EU Pay Transparency Directive will take effect. These regulations impose new and expanded requirements on employers regarding transparency, information, and reporting of wages. The aim is to combat unjustified pay gaps and reinforce the principle of equal pay for equal work and work of equal value.

In this 45-minute webinar, you’ll receive an up-to-date and practical overview of both the requirements of the EU directive and the content of the draft bill. The focus is on which rights and obligations will change in practice compared to the current situation, what risks may arise from non-compliance, and how you, as an employer, can start preparing your organization now to ensure compliance.

Aims and objectives of the course

The course aims to provide a concrete overview of the new requirements imposed by the directive and the proposed law. The focus is on how to ensure compliance in practice – from salary surveys, information requirements regarding salaries and reporting to internal communication and policy development.

After the course you will be able to:

  • Be familiar with the government's proposal on how the directive should be implemented in Swedish law.
  • Determine how the new rules affect your business and which requirements are most important to address
  • Understand how job evaluation works and how it interacts with other factors, as well as its consequences for salary surveys and rules on transparency in salary setting.

  • Understand and avoid legal and organizational risks associated with non-compliance with the new rules
