Orbit – A New Hub for Defense, Dual-Use, and Innovation

TechSverige and SME-D, The Swedish Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Defense and Security, are proud partners of Orbit, a new forum that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, the defense sector, procurement officials, decision-makers, and end-users to address one of the most important issues for Sweden’s defense capabilities: How do we move from innovation to implementation?

Sweden is in the midst of a historic defense buildup. It is no longer enough to just talk about innovation. We must ensure that new solutions reach users more quickly and that more tech companies and SMEs become part of the business ecosystem, supply chains, and operational capabilities. It is often within these companies that the greatest adaptability, innovative power, and cutting-edge expertise are found.

Time is a critical factor. The defense market is taking shape right here and now. If we wait, we risk missing out on technology, expertise, and capabilities that are already available. That is why we need more forums where the defense sector, industry, investors, and decision-makers can come together to chart concrete paths from idea to implementation.

Orbit is not a traditional conference. It is a day of collaboration for the entire ecosystem, focusing on the challenges and opportunities that determine how we strengthen Swedish and European defense capabilities through innovation, collaboration, and new players.
