Dealing with employee misconduct, lack of cooperation or poor performance is one of the most challenging aspects of management. This course gives you as an employer, manager or HR manager a deeper understanding of what legally applies to dismissal for personal reasons and practical tools to conduct difficult conversations in a professional and legally secure manner.
Course content
Sooner or later, most organizations are faced with the challenge of dealing with employees who do not live up to expectations. Whether it's repeated misconduct, cooperation problems or refusal to work, it is crucial for employers to act in a correct and legally compliant manner.
This course will give you the knowledge, tools and strategies you need to prevent and manage misconduct in the workplace. You will learn what is required under employment law and how to take professional action when misconduct has already occurred.
During the course you will learn about:
- Personal reasons and dismissal under the Employment Protection Act (LAS): When is it possible to dismiss an employee for personal reasons?
- Misconduct and consequence management: How do you deal with unauthorized absences, cooperation difficulties, poor performance or disloyalty?
- Employer's responsibilities and approach: what is required from you as an employer before a dismissal can take place?
- Difficult conversations in practice: Strategies for communicating clearly and professionally during reprimands, warnings and terminations.
- Feel confident in communicating: with both staff and trade union representatives on sensitive HR issues.
Target group
The course is aimed at those who have basic knowledge of labor law and are managers, HR staff, supervisors with personnel responsibility or who in some way come into contact with labor law in their daily work.
