Seminar on the European Health Data Space

Digitization of healthcare is a highly topical issue and in the spring the European Commission presented an ambitious proposal for a European Health Data Space. Swecare and TechSverige invite you to a seminar on the European Health Data Space where the European Commission's proposal is presented and the effects for Sweden are discussed. Welcome to the seminar!

In May, the European Commission submitted a proposal to create a European Health Data Space as part of the extensive digital infrastructure work. The aim of the Commission's proposal for a regulation is to give individuals in the EU greater control over their health data and to make it easier to share and access different types of health data. This applies both to healthcare (primary use) and to research, innovation and decision-making (secondary use). The Commission's proposal is very ambitious and is now being discussed in the various Member States. In Sweden, the Swedish eHealth Agency is assisting the Ministry of Social Affairs in the negotiations on the regulation as an expert authority. The proposal is expected to be discussed and possibly adopted during the Swedish Presidency in spring 2023. For healthcare and for business, the proposal could have major consequences in everything from innovation to complex regulatory aspects and, in turn, impact on the market and business models.
