Several of our member companies have noted that young people increasingly lack preparation and maturity for working life, and that mental ill health among young people is worrying. To better support young people in their start to working life, we need to explore how we can adapt our approaches and introductions.
Course description
Almega invites you to a workshop where we, together with researchers from Karolinska Institutet and Linnaeus University, will explore these important issues.
We will discuss:
- How best to introduce young people to the world of work, often right after high school.
- What works and what does not work in the induction process.
- Views on work, sick leave and short-term absence.
- How we can maintain motivation and set the right expectations.
We will share each other's experiences and insights, while reflecting on our own organizations' challenges and solutions. The number of participants for the workshop is limited enough to create trusting conversations, but large enough to contribute to the exchange of skills and experiences.
The workshop is led by Almega's work environment experts Maria Morberg and Anders Karlsson, who will guide you through the various topics covered during the day.
Program:
First meeting - December 10: We have invited Mats Trondhem, Professor of Cultural Sociology, who will share his research on the values, attitudes and motivations of young generations.
We will also be joined by Petter Gustavsson, professor/associate professor, and Elin Frögéli, postdoctoral researcher from Karolinska Institutet, who conducts research on young adults' mental health.
Under their guidance, we will explore and further develop the day's discussions through lectures, exciting discussions and reflections.
Second session - April 3: This session builds on the insights from the first day. There will be an optional follow-up discussion where we will dive deep into the participants' experiences. More details about this day will be sent out a month before.
Target group:
We are aimed at those who work as HR or personnel managers
