IToTelekomföretagen has responded to the referral of the memorandum Continued validity of a time-limited provision in the Collection Act
The Data Collection Act regulates the conditions for the law enforcement authorities to collect surveillance data on electronic communications for intelligence purposes. A provision in the Act that allows the Security Service to collect such data for certain socially dangerous crimes is limited in time and expires at the end of 2016. The bill proposes that the validity of the provision be extended until the end of 2017.
