Information and cyber security in Sweden - Strategy and measures for secure government information
The referral was received from the Ministry of Justice
The report proposes a strategy for information and cyber security in central government. The strategy has six objectives:
- to strengthen governance and oversight in this area,
- that the government should set clear requirements for IT procurement,
- government agencies to communicate securely,
- that all government agencies report cyber incidents,
- strengthening efforts to prevent and combat cybercrime; and
-
Sweden to be a strong international partner.
These measures will ensure that government agencies have a common approach to information security issues and the need for protected communications and secure IT solutions. Other proposed measures involve creating the conditions for law enforcement authorities to guarantee the same protection against cybercrime as against crime in general. It is also proposed that the Government strengthen and coordinate efforts to promote Sweden's position in international cooperation on information and cyber security.
