reply to public consultation of the ministry memorandum Compensation for expropriation of housing (Ds 2016:16)
IT&Telecom companies have been offered the opportunity to submit comments.
The investigation assignment concerns the rules on compensation in the event of expropriation and other such dispositions to owners of single-family dwellings, tenant-owners and tenants. It has been prompted mainly by the problems expected to arise in connection with the planned relocation of Kiruna town due to the need to expand LKAB's mining operations in the direction of Kiruna town center. The relocation, which is expected to take around 20 years, can be expected to have a significant impact on the housing market. It is foreseeable that expropriation compensation will not always be sufficient to provide homeowners, condominium owners and tenants with equivalent housing in the community.
