Consultation response to the Swedish Transport Agency report Drivers' use of communication equipment while driving

IT&Telecom companies have been offered the opportunity to respond to the consultation.

 In December 2013, a new provision was introduced in the Traffic Ordinance aimed at increasing road safety by prohibiting the use of mobile phones and other communication equipment considered to be dangerous on the road. At the same time, the Government instructed the Swedish Transport Agency to draw up an action plan on the dangerous use of communication equipment while driving on the road.
