Consultation response on EU legislative act COM(2017)495: Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on a framework for the free flow of non-personal data in the European Union

IT&Telecom companies have responded to the consultation.

On a general level, IT&Telecom companies appreciate the European Commission's proposal. National requirements for data localization in specific Member States limit the ability of our member companies to enjoy the benefits of the internal market. We therefore welcome the fact that the European Commission is presenting a proposal that limits the Member States' ability to impose localization requirements. It favors a free flow of data within the EU and therefore supports the proposal on notification requirements for Member States.
