Consultation response: IT&Telekomföretagen's views on PTS's proposal for regulations on operational reliability (dnr 14-13006)
Reliable electronic communications are an important and prioritized issue for the industry, but with regard to PTS's proposed regulations, we believe that the proposed regulation is too far-reaching and detailed and that it partially misses the goal of increased operational reliability.
In addition, the proposal entails enormous costs for industry players, at least SEK 2 billion in one-off costs, which will lead to reduced investment in other areas such as broadband expansion or more effective investments in operational reliability. We therefore believe that PTS should withdraw its proposal for regulations or limit these to requirements for a minimum level that describes what should be achieved and not how.
