In the 2016 budget, the City Council has been tasked with developing a strategy for Stockholm as a smart and connected city and the Internet of Things, in collaboration with AB Stokab, the Environmental and Health Protection Board and the Transport Board.
The case proposes a strategy aimed at stimulating, guiding and coordinating efforts to contribute to the goal of Stockholm as the world's smartest city through digitization. A smart city is a city that uses the opportunities of digitization to make life easier and better for residents, entrepreneurs and visitors. New smart services are continuously being created in the city to promote an innovative city. The services developed must be designed in a way that creates opportunities for all city residents to benefit from them, both those with high digital maturity and internet access and those with lower digital maturity and internet access.
