Electricians' union gives notice of strike
The Electricians' Union has called a strike. The union is demanding, among other things, free company cars and a special fee for "meaningful and enjoyable leisure time".
IT&Telekomföretagen's member company Sector Alarm Service AB has been notified by the Swedish Electricians' Union of a total work stoppage from January 8. The company installs and services home alarms and is bound by a collective agreement between IT&Telekomföretagen and the LO union Seko.
Update 2015-01-09
Discussions are currently underway between the parties and the mediators, and are expected to continue over the next week.
Update 2014-12-23
At the request of the Mediators, the Swedish Electricians' Union has postponed the announced industrial action from January 8 to January 22 at 06.00. Continued negotiations/mediation will resume on January 7 at 10.00.
In addition to the central agreement with Seko, the Electricians' Union is demanding a local agreement for its members with the following content, which the company considers unreasonable:
- Regulation of leave entitlement and payment for union representatives, with the SEF deciding to what extent this should be the case.
- A leisure fee shall be paid to SEF of 5% of SEF's decided wage share. The funds shall enable meaningful and enjoyable leisure time for the union's members who are employed by Sector Alarm AB
- A contractual fee of 5% of the union's agreed wage component must be paid to SEF.
- Members shall be entitled to a free company car up to 7.5 price base amounts.
