Do you like the apps on your smartphone? Help the European Commission understand data-driven innovation.

The European Commission is working on a strategy for the data-driven economy - that is, with access to good information, good decisions can be made. This may sound obvious. But the more connected we and our things become, the more data will be available to make more and more nuanced decisions. Which means enormous opportunities for efficiency and increased productivity.

For those who know their basic market economics, economic value creation and sound resource management are largely based on so-called spontaneous order. Decisions are made locally, close to the market, with access to information that is difficult to gather centrally. Therefore, a high degree of individual freedom provides more room for growth than tightly regulated and centrally controlled markets. And with more data for each individual to make decisions from, the possibilities are almost endless.

The European Commission is now seeking input from businesses and others who have knowledge of how data-driven innovation affects the economy. How it affects decision-making and the development of business models.

Input can be submitted on this (very analog) questionnaire (.docx file) until September 15.
