Well on the way to value-creating welfare technology
What a wonderful energy we have managed to create in our welfare technology meetings! Yesterday's meeting, the second stage of "The digital road to tomorrow's health and social care - a knowledge journey with Arena Welfare Technology", was no exception. Worth highlighting from the introductory presentations, I think, was the survey showing that 47% of young people in the study want to actively participate in the development of citizen services and 43% want to contribute financially to new digital services. There is hope for a digitally engaged Sweden in the future - if only we can keep these young people here!
After five inspiring presentations on value creation through digitalization, the room was bubbling with ideas and thoughts, in evolving dialogues on how to make digitalization in health and social care happen. The conversations were so engaged that not even a coffee break could make the conversations fade or stop.
Among other things, it said that:
- Digitization is a national issue. It should be forbidden to digitize only within the framework of a municipality or a County Council.
- A minister should be appointed to be responsible for all digitalization.
- Digitization is based on the needs of individuals, or at least it should be.
- Digital inclusion is a key concept.
- Standardization of technology as well as concepts is needed.
- Legal structures must be up to date.
Questions that remain:
- How long will we lose ground to the rest of the world? We need look no further than our neighbors to learn a lot today!
- Who is prepared to hold together, lead and take responsibility for issues related to e-health and welfare technology at national level?
As usual, we'll see you in the future - the next stage of the Knowledge Journey takes place on October 4. But first we'll make a detour to Visby, because of course we're going to talk about welfare technology during Almedalen Week this year too. Everything about the organization of this will come soon.
Stay tuned!
