Industry-wide policy on how to roll out mobile networks

TechSverige and its members have taken the initiative and drawn up an industry-wide policy on how to roll out mobile networks. This is relevant for deployment in general but perhaps especially for the deployment of 5G. The policy provides a clear picture of how the industry views the issue.

dialog

Mobile operators are engaged in a dialog with authorities and other relevant stakeholders on the infrastructure needed for the roll-out of the mobile network.

Information for authorities

Mobile operators provide information to authorities and other relevant stakeholders on the infrastructure needed for the roll-out of the mobile network and cooperate to ensure that the information is clear and consistent.

Information to the public

Mobile operators have procedures in place to deal with public enquiries about base stations, masts and antennas, and are involved in producing fact-based information for the roll-out of new technologies.

Co-location

Mobile operators make use of existing masts and other existing infrastructure, where possible, taking into account legal, regulatory, technical and economic conditions.

Consideration

Mobile operators show consideration in the siting and design of base stations, masts and antennas and seek to limit visual and other relevant impacts.

Electromagnetic fields

Mobile operators are responsible for ensuring that all existing and new base stations comply with the applicable guidelines on electromagnetic exposure issued by the responsible authorities and provide information on this upon request.
