Tove Lindblad, Business Development Manager, Trimble

Why have you taken this initiative?

Trimble is changing the way people work around the world with products and services that connect the physical and digital worlds. Trimble provides, among other things, Tekla Structures software for design, construction and civil engineering, which is based on the open flow of information, buildable models and collaboration. When the Corona crisis struck, we wanted to enable and facilitate communication between actors in construction projects now that many work from home. We have extended the functionality of our collaboration platform Trimble Connect for the personal free license, with several of the business functionalities.

What do you offer in concrete terms?

The collaboration platform links data through every phase of a building's lifecycle, enabling informed decisions and improving project efficiency. The features of the extended free trial will be available until June 2020. We have also made it possible to test our Tekla Model Sharing free trial product, which can now be used freely for 90 days to enable Tekla Structures users to work more efficiently from home with project colleagues regardless of their physical location.

What do you want to achieve?

We want to make it easier for all stakeholders and enable construction projects to continue even if there are restrictions on physical presence. Trimble Connect is a cloud-based platform that provides that opportunity, to be able to collaborate and communicate with other employees around 3D models, drawings, reports, assembly instructions and other documents that need to be shared during a construction project.

Who are you targeting with your initiative?

All users of building information circulating in a construction project and wishing to share it in real time can use our collaboration platform. Then we want to enable designers who are modeling in Tekla Structures to test the Model Sharing functionality in their projects.
