Vinnova awards grants to Governo and the AI Call
The AI call, which is part of the #vitecherupp communication campaign, has attracted around 100 companies and researchers. The aim of the initiative has been to find ways for the participants to support and contribute with knowledge during the ongoing corona crisis. Governo is now awarded a grant of SEK 500,000 to evaluate the potential of the participating initiatives.
Governo's and the IT&Telecom companies' joint call, #vitecherupp, aims to contribute solutions to some of the tough challenges that have arisen due to covid-19. The initiative has both made visible and encouraged the industry to highlight good examples of how IT and digital services can relieve society and our authorities. Vinnova has now provided support to Governo to evaluate which initiatives within the AI call and #vitecherupp can be developed to strengthen Sweden during the crisis.
- "Our member companies are very important in helping Sweden during the current crisis. #vitecherupp shows several fantastic efforts and with the help of the support from Vinnova, more initiatives will be developed to support all parts of society," says Åsa Zetterberg, Director of IT&Telekomföretagen.
Governo is working to coordinate the initiative by connecting those in need of IT and AI services with companies and researchers who can offer solutions in the field. Examples of what the initiative has achieved so far include 3D printing of critical spare parts for ventilators, an alternative way to conduct infection tracking, and developing the Bris chatbot to support children in need of support due to the crisis.
The project will receive SEK 500,000 in funding, which will be used to evaluate and analyze the potential of the various initiatives that are part of #vitecherupp.
