Einar Humlin new chief negotiator

On June 1, a new head of negotiations will take office at IT&Telekomföretagen. Johan Mann will be succeeded by Einar Humlin, who has a very good knowledge of both the organization and the industry.

- I have more than 20 years of experience in negotiations and as a chief negotiator within Almega and in the private sector. I was head of negotiations for IT&Telekomföretagen for five years before I had the same role at Telia for five years and then at Tele2 for three years, but I have also worked with negotiations in industry, the train sector and the communication and logistics sector. I am one of the authors of the latest edition of "The Negotiator's Book", which deals specifically with negotiations in the workplace.

Can you give us a short presentation of yourself outside of work?

- I am 50 years old and live with my soon to be 15-year-old son and a little dog called Zappy at Nytorget in Södermalm.

What attracted you to the position?

- The IT, telecom and tech sector is and has always been an industry in transition and of great importance for the development of modern society. That importance will continue to increase and to be part of such a fantastic industry is incredibly exciting, not least with regard to the work on a sustainable future working life in a local, national and global context. I look forward to being part of the great team that Åsa Zetterberg leads within Almega and IT&Telecom companies and taking the next step as TechSverige.

What challenges can you see in the work?

- Much of the regulatory framework in which our member companies operate was created in a different time and for different industries. We must modernize it and create rules and collective agreements that are relevant for the future, and I hope our trade union partners want to be part of this development. This mainly concerns wage formation and the development of our agreed pension systems, which I want to be more flexible and individually adaptable in the way our member companies want. Our latest statistics show that our member companies demand our services to a very large extent, which indicates a great deal of confidence in us. Creating value for our member companies is our number one priority, so it's great to be able to build on our value creation for our members in employer issues.
