Hello CEO: Robin Suwe, Blocket

Our 1,350 members range from small start-ups with few employees to large multinationals with thousands of employees around the world. Under the banner "Hello CEO", we gather their views on the recent past and their thoughts on the future. Robin Suwe is the new CEO of Blocket since June 30.

Congratulations on your new job! What was it that made you accept?

- Thank you very much! It feels great to come back to Blocket. I said yes because Blocket is on an exciting transformation. With my experience and knowledge in marketplaces, I can contribute to Blocket's development towards becoming the next generation marketplace. And it's a company with a purpose that makes it feel good to go to work every day. Being able to contribute to a sustainable world, with lots of opportunities, for everyone, is very rewarding.

The coronavirus crisis has had a profound impact on our society - how do you see the role and contribution of the tech industry in these challenging times?

- The pandemic forced us to accelerate a digital transformation and the tech industry has undeniably played an important role in that. Not least, it has been important from a contagion perspective, but it has also contributed to an exciting cultural shift. Many people are now re-evaluating their ways of working and we have found new ways to collaborate even if we are not in the same place. This will continue to affect how we work, live and socialize. Our service has also evolved in line with the pandemic, and our secure shipping and payment solutions, for example, are being used even more widely.

Looking ahead, how do you see the immediate future? What will be your priority issues/focus areas?

- Blocket is for everyone and we will continue to work to make Blocket a part of life, at all stages of life. We do this by developing all our business areas and making Blocket the place you turn to no matter what you need - education, work, housing, car or crib.

- For Blocket as a workplace, the pandemic has meant a lot, perhaps above all that we have all been working from home for a long time. And looking ahead, we are also planning to be a hybrid workplace, where you can do your work from the office, or elsewhere. Exactly how it will look is something we will set together and where a lot of work will be done to ensure that we are as good and efficient a workplace as possible.
